day 1. My favorite books of all time

I will have friends helping me with the blogging for a couple of days because I'm having my surgery in two days, and the days before can be quite emotional, especially when It's a tumor. I'm doing okay but I don't want my blog to suffer because of that so yeah :)

Anyway, I thought that I should start with my own book challenge, I have thirty questions to answer in thirty days. This is on my day 1.

Favorite books of all time
Is a really hard question. How do you choose!?

Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1)Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials, #3)
The Opportunist (Love Me With Lies, #1)The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)Obsidian (Lux, #1)

All these books have affected me in one way or another. I share unique memories with every single book and  I love each story to death. These six books pretty much sums up what kind of books I usually read. Contemporay, fantasy, Sci-fi, Romance, tension, angst... and four of these books made me cry like a little baby. Can you guess which ones? ;)

Find my reviews of the books here below
1. Perfect Chemistry (perfect chemistry #1) - Simone Elkeles
2. Clockwork Pincess (The infernal Devices #3) - Cassandra Clare
3. The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials #1) - Philip Pullman
4. The Opportunist (Love me with Lies #1) - Tarryn Fisher
5. Percy Jackson and the Lightening thief (Percy Jackson #1) - Rick Riordan
6. Obsidian (a Lux Novel #1) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Guest blogger Emelie!

Hey Ho people!

My name is Emelie, and I am one of Lihinis friends/classmates and today I have the great pleasure to write a text for her blog! Ha-ha, I am not exactly great at this whole blogging thing, I had one back in the days when I was young and stupid but it was really bad and that’s the truth. But I am going to try my best to entertain you guys today!

Okay, books. This blog is mainly about books so I should probably right something about them right? Well here it goes all or nothing. I love books, but not as much as Lihini, nobody loves books like she does.
Anyway, when it comes to books I am extremely picky If I start reading a new book and don’t like it right away I give up. So If I am going to read a book it has to be a fantastic one, like the hunger games trilogy! I am soooo hooked when it comes to the hunger games and I have to admit that I have the biggest crush ever on Mr. Peeta Mellark. I don’t exactly know why I love the books so much but you can’t help falling for the characters.

I just love them all except from Gale, I felt so sorry for him in the beginning of the books because he had to watch Katniss pretend to love Peeta (why on earth would you have to pretend to love Peeta?!? I mean have you seen him?) But after a while I just got tired of him. And speaking of the hunger games and hotties, I can’t even begin to tell you all how exited I am for the catching fire premiere this November!

Hmm… enough about my crazy obsession with the hunger games. What else have I read lately? Oh right, another trilogy “Fifty shades of grey”. But don’t judge me right away!!! I actually read them by mistake, believe me. So how did this terrible mistake happen you wonder, well this is how it happened. I was reading a magazine a while ago and I saw this book cover “Fifty shades of grey” and I thought the title sounded pretty interesting ( I thought it was a thrilling detective story or something, my bad) and so I told my mother about it and she bought it for me. Can you imagine her facial expression when I told her what it was about? Joking aside she almost fell of her chair laughing at me.

Well I hope I haven’t bored you all to death with my stories! And no comments on my stupidity regarding the fifty shades incident ;)
Bye bye!

Cloak & Dagger: Stuck In 2 Worlds REVIEW

Cloak & Dagger: Stuck In 2 WorldsBy G. Avetis
Pages: 428
Publisher: Createspace

A young woman who wanted nothing but her freedom. A vampire who would try to control her destiny.

Ruby Rahman, age seventeen, ran away from her home in the Middle East to escape an arranged marriage. But her dream of an independent life in the U.S. turns into a nightmare when she becomes the captive of William Scott, a handsome young vampire who finds her scent irresistible.

Despite herself, Ruby finds herself falling for William. After all, he and his “family” have risked their lives to keep her hidden from the rogue vampire who’s on her trail—and the council that would kill her for uncovering an ancient secret.

But Ruby has secrets of her own. And when a gorgeous young vampire named Nikolas challenges William for her affections, she’ll be forced to unravel the mystery of who she really is—and where she really belongs.

I wanted to like this book SO SO bad. I saw real potential in it after reading the synopsis. I got this E-ARC personally from the author, I had some problems with the file and she was really nice about the whole thing and sent me another, and then checked up with me a week or so later to see if it worked. A very nice lady Indeed.

This book reminded me quite a lot about Twilight.
There were moments when I thought to myself "wow, didn't something similar happen in the Twilight saga?"

Ruby, the main character is not from the United States, and because of that everything is sort of new to her. She would always think/say stuff like "in my country..."  etc...
"In my country..." was repeated 15 times which I think is too much. I don't mean that she shouldn't talk about Ivenia, but she could have said what she wanted to be said in a different way.

I also thought that it was weird that Ruby didn't question right away how she ended up in a bunch of strangers home when she got there. She was really respected toward them and it took her weeks to ask.

Then we have William...
He just confused me. He acted like a total asshole for weeks, didn't say anything, just walked around looking really mad.
And why did he act like this?
Because he liked Ruby of course, makes total sense...

I think this book is bringing an important subject to light, because there are MILLIONS of girls living under the circumstances Ruby was living under but a lot of them can't escape, like Ruby did... And the cultural struggles Ruby had/have to go trough are things that either Avetis had to go trough or someone she knows. I think it's strong of her to write about something that clearly have ffected her a lot.
Brave attempt to mix this with vampires but it wasn't something for me... This book have a high rating on goodreads so you should check it out! (and there is a giveaway of this book on goodreads too!)

The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never #1)

"I also wonder, more than I want to admit, why so many of his thoughts already make me feel like I’m staring into a mirror when I look at him." -The Edge of Never ♥

The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never, #1)By J.A. RedmerskiPages: 426Publisher: Creatspace
Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.
Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind. With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love. But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?
What a ride!
How to read this book:
Make yourself some tea
Bake some cookies to have with the tea
Find a cozy corner with lot's of pillows and blankets
Now sit down and enjoy this roadtrip!
I thought this book was a bit different from other NA books, this book had a lot of other stuff going on a part from the romance, We have tragedies, death, love stories being shared and a lot of arguing about all kind of random stuff people argue about!

I fell in love with them both quickly. This book had some sweet moment's some very intense moment's and some moment's that left you like
Overall this was a great book that makes me long for summer 2014 more than I should because it's so for away!
I'm quite jealous of Camryn, I wan't to go on  roadtrip with  hot, nice, funny, sweet guy like Andrew too...
The only negative thing I could think about to say about this book is the language, the language wasn't so subtlety.
that's why I'm giving this book 3/5
The second book in this series is coming out in November!
Oh, and this book is recommended for people 17+ But I'f you are younger and used to reading NA, go ahead!

My letter to you.

Hi loves.

I'm having extremely hard times at the moment that i'm not ready to openly talk about.  I'm not allowed to go to school until the... doctor say I can go due to these difficulties.
Things are just a bit hard now and I have not been in the right state of mind to blog (or even read).
I'm obviously feeling a bit more like myself now, I've wanted to write this post earlier but couldn't... hope u all understand and I will be back really soon. I really miss blogging, it feels like ages since I did it last, even though it's  been roughly a week.

Hope you are all well and taking care of yourself.

Love always

Try Me (Take a Chance #1) REVIEW

Try Me (Take a Chance, #1)What happens in Vegas...can lead to romance.

It took one wild night for Sergeant Jeremy Addison to realize that Vegas? Was a bad idea.

Bloody. Bruised. Dehydrated. Abandoned in the desert, and left to stagger down the road. The only way this leave could get worse was if his savior was his ex-best friend's sister...and the girl he'd loved since childhood.

The last person Erica expected to find on the roadside was her high school crush. She hadn't seen Jeremy in seven years—ever since the night he said he loved her, and she ran away. Losing him then had been a mistake, but wanting him now could be catastrophic if he discovered the secret that chased every other man from her life. But with a tall, tattooed Marine determined to prove he's always been faithful, can Erica resist his advances...or will she surrender ground and give love a try?

yeah, a very very amatour written book with no plot twist really and crappy characters.
I don't even no how this book made it through publication, Everything was just so unbelievable, It's a short story, yes, I'm sure she finished this one in like 2 hours, but there are better (much better) short stories out there.

(yes the cover was the reason I picked this book up)

1/5

Cholesteatoma - the name of my tumor

One month ago
"I'm not 100% sure but I think you might have some extra skin growing in your ear, I'll have you go and check it out, this could be the cause of your bad hearing"

And unfortunately he was almost right.

Four years ago I lost almost all my hearing in my left ear after an operation. There was a chance on 0.01% that this could happen but I didn't know it then because the doctor never told me and of course I managed to be that 0.01% (I always manage the impossible)

One year went by and the doctor decided to do another operation to "fix" it. But with my eternal luck he couldn't fix it.
The worst part of it all was that my doctor kept saying " nothing seems to be wrong"
HOW THE HELL DO YOU EXPLAIN A DEAF EAR?

The hardest thing with operations like these are the following days.
Vomit
Nausea
Uncontrollable bleeding from the ear
No washing your hair
Not being able to sleep on the operation side
loss of apatite
Having a bandage over your head for a week that is held in place by your own dried blood
Positive things
They give me a sidecut

I could make this list very long.

And I have been trough this two times. And I'm up for my third round. Worst part? This time it's not to fix some minor hole in my ear. It's not to fix my hearing. It's to remove my newly found noncancerous tumor - Cholesteatoma.

I myself found out about this today and had never hear of Cholesteatoma before so I did my research.

"A cholesteatoma is a type of cyst found in the middle ear behind the eardrum. Cholesteatoma is a noncancerous tumor that forms when the skin of a punctured eardrum grows through the hole in the middle ear. If there is an ear infection, the skin will continue to grow into a cholesteatoma.
While the tumors are benign, the growths can cause damage to the ears by destroying bones in the ear and causing hearing problems. The tumors may also cause nerve damage, hearing loss, deafness, dizziness, and balance problems.
Cholesteatoma is a serious medical problem, and early treatment is crucial for the best outcome. Serious complications may occur if the tumor goes untreated, including destruction of both the middle ear structures causing Hearing Loss and inner ear structures causing Vertigo (feeling of spinning or whirling). Spreading of infection to the brain can lead to meningitis and brain abscess.
Cholesteatoma responds well to treatments. Patients are likely to recover fully without complications if the tumor is caught and treated early."
I am so utterly tired of all this.
Why does it always have to be me?
I was born with a syndrome that one in a million (literary) get and almost every operation I've ever done have gone wrong.
I'm not even supposed to be alive, I couldn't eat when I was born on my own and had heart problems, thanks to doctors I'm alive.
But being alive is an everyday battle for me.
I almost broke down when the doctor (it's a new doctor btw) told me that I had Cholesteatoma and that he was really sorry, and that removing the tumor wouldn't give me my hearing back.
But my own willpower kept me from crying. I would not break down. Not like this. Not now.
I wanted to tell the doctor no. I don't wan't to do the operation. I'm clearly not meant to be alive. Everything that has ever happened to me are my facts. And I don't want to live either. Because I'm so tired of all this. All my life I've always wanted to be like the other kids. I've been bullied because of my syndrome for ages, and even for  my lack of hearing. I'm just so tired of fighting back. I saw not going trough with this operation as my ticket out of this misery

But I have to. As long as I live, As long as I breath I have to fight BACK. I am not weak. The opposite actually. I've been trough so much and I always get back to my feet, I always stand tall.
This is my fight.
And I have to fight it alone.

Operation in 15 days, 1th October.

Perfect way to end this crappy day.

City of Ashes movie - Delayed.

Constantin have announced that they are pushing pack the premiere of City of Ashes with nearly a year. (2015)
This is what they had to say about it:

“Constantin Film has a long tradition of adapting books to the big screen. Pushing back the start of production of City of Ashes was a decision we did not take lightly. But after speaking with all of our partners on the creative and distribution side, it was clear that it will be beneficial to have more time to reposition the film in the current marketplace. The Mortal Instruments series has an incredibly loyal and ardent fan base and is a best-selling book series. While taking Cassandra Claire’s [sic] vision to the screen we want to make sure to draw on the full potential of the franchise.”

The movie didn't make as much money as they were hoping for, and this plays a huge part. The movie have been very criticized, people call it "twilight wanabee" and stuff like that so they are taking the time to build this movie up to make it better.

But that's not the only thing..
The latest roomer is that they might REEBOOT the cast, in other words, new cast.

That's where I put my foot down. NO WAY. It took me almost two years to warm up to all the cast members and I have realized that these actors are as close as you can get to the real deal and they talk about REBOOT!?

Bull.
Even if they choose not to film the movie I will never loose hope. Just like I never lost hope with Percy Jackson. And see, I got another movie (which I haven't seen yet but still)

I would love to hear your thoughts about this so feel free to leave a comment!

The Transfer: A Divergent Story (Divergent 0.1) REVIEW

description

The Transfer by Veronica Roth
By Veronica Roth
Pages: 50
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books

"The Transfer," the first of four new short stories told from Four’s perspective. Each brief story explores the world of the Divergent series through the eyes of the mysterious but charismatic Tobias Eaton, revealing previously unknown facets of his personality, backstory, and relationships.

TOO SHORT!

GIVE ME MORE

WHY ON EARTH DID WE ONLY GET FIFTY PAGES?!

I loved it, I really can't picture Tobias being "weak" or even with real emotions like that haha, but I do feel like we got a better glimpse of him, because the past is what sets out future. No future can be made without a past.

This short story makes me long even more for Allegiant, but at the same time I never wan't that day to come, because that means that It's over. The divergent series is over.

My Search for the Golden F(leece)eathers.

I was 14 - 15 when I first saw feather extensions. Wow I thought. I NEED THAT.
I think it's so beautiful, I love how it gives color to your hair and the fact that you don't have to take them of is the hugest plus ever, since I'm not the biggest fan of taking to much time to fix myself in the morning.

But unfortunately for me I live in Narnia (Sweden) and we didn't have feather extensions at that time! It was still pretty new. months wen't by and I never stopped my search for these lovely feathers.
 And then I found them.
On the internet.
For 100 kr per feather (£10, $13)
WHAT THE ACTUAL DUCK!?
If the feathers were actually WORTH that much I would pay the price but I knew that they were not.
Alas I bought one feather anyway.
Just to find out that it was not really a feather. It was just  feather looking hair.
My trust in humanity died that day.  But I'm Still searching.

Underbara Helvete / Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful #1) REVIEW

descriptiondescription
                         Travis                                                     Abby

description
This is Their Story.

Av Jamie McGuire
Sidor: 363

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)By Jamie McGuire
Pages: 418
Publisher Atria Books

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

That was one hellova roller coaster. What a, loving, strong, passionate and irritating story!
In the beginning I couldn't put it down. The book became a drug, I could read for hours because i wanted to just finish it and love it.
The book had some really strong characters that you either loved or hated. Personally - Loved.
Can we just take a second from our lives to talk about Travis Maddox? He got his issues, no need to deny that, he have a temper and he is very protective of Abby. very protective I'm not saying that it's right to act like a psycho at times, but no one can be perfect, and Abby is pretty Fd up to. I think that is what makes this story so good. none of them are perfect.

Abby and Travis are so sweet together, there were some great moment's in the book that made my heart warm and fuzzy, and I swear that sometimes I felt the exact things that Abby was feeling. That's how you know the author is good - she gotta be able to make you FEEL.

It would be wrong of me not to talk about America (Abbys bff) and Shep (Travis cousin / Americas boyfriend)
They play a big part in this book, and they both affect Travis and Abby a lot. None of them would be able to stand on their own feet without America and Shep. The bond America and Abby share is unbreakable, they have been through everything but America never leave Abby's side.
Friendship, betrayal, family and love. This book has it all.

How to: Put Scent on the Right Way

I have all kind of friends. The ones who BATH in perfume, the ones who skim though a perfume mist and those who only use some drops and let their shower wash and shampoo fragrance takes over.

But did you know that there is a RIGHT way to put on perfume?

  • You wan't the scent to stay on you as long as possible, and you want the PERFUME smell to be the smell people smell on you. Because of that it's important that you try to clear free from scented shampoos and body washes. Try looking for a fragrance free.
  • Know what places on your body to put scent on.  People usually put some drops on their wrist,     behind their ears and neck. That's because we have our pulse points there, and our pulse points are our most heated places and the heat radiates out from our body, and when we put perfume there the scent carries with the heat.
I'm Obsessed with Chanel no 5, absolutely love the smell!

  • It's best to put on perfume RIGHT after you step out from the shower. (Okay, you should dry yourself first) Your pores are still open after the hot shower and will absorb the scent much better than what it would have done on dry non washed skin.
  • If you can't take a shower before putting perfume on you should at least put some lotion on your body (unscented) before spraying)
The 1 Million Men perfume will always bring back sad memories...

  • Avoid, at all costs, to rub your wrists after putting on perfume there! The fragrance will mix with your natural oil and can cause the scent to change.
I really like Capri, It's quite famous in Asia and does wonders to Asian skin, and the best thing about it is that is smells SO MUCH like Chanel no 5!
