Best Seller of the Month: January 2013

Safe HavenLove hurts. There is nothing as painful as heartbreak. But in order to learn to love again, you must learn to trust again
When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.

But even as Katie begins to fall in love, she struggles with the dark secret that still haunts and terrifies her . . . a past that set her on a fearful, shattering journey across the country, to the sheltered oasis of Southport. With Jo’s empathic and stubborn support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards . . . and that in the darkest hour, love is the only true safe haven.
Im doing the walk of shame, because I have only read on book by Nicholas Sparks, I always watch the movies, and they are always great, but when It comes to the books I have this mean voice in my head who tells me not to read them because I already knows what is going to happen so I don't bother reading his books. but I am so going to read this one, just because the movie trailer was soo brilliant!

Sweden and our traditions...

In Sweden we like to come up with excuses to eat sweet things. It's true, I think we celebrate every tart you can come up with. we have cinnamon-bun day, princesscake day, "semel day", brownie day, etc etc... It's getting a bit... heavy around the belly... I follow this blog called fitspooration.blogg.se it's a health/training blog, everytime i think about eating something sweet I go to her blog, or if i need motivation to go to the gym :)
anyway, Im getting really tired of these sweet things, and we have it around the house all the time... it's funny, because my mum talk's about loosing weight all the time but she keeps buying cake and chocolate and stuff...

The Vampire Academy Series REVIEW

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)
Frostbite (Vampire Academy,...Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academ...Blood Promise (Vampire Acad...Spirit Bound (Vampire Acade...Last Sacrifice (Vampire Aca...

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

just saw that i had not written a review about Vampire academy although i always talk about the books!
It's no secret that VA is on of my favorite series all time.
what I love about VA so much are the characters. they MAKE the book, even without the story I would read the book, just because of the strong characters. they are so unique, Rose is so badass she makes me cringe in my own skin, and Lissa is so sweet too.
Richelle Mead always does the unexpected, everytime you come to a climax you're like, "WOW, how did she do that, i never saw that coming!"
even if you are not a big fan of fantasy you should give this book a chance.
I read this book a couple of months after I read twilight, and i would just HATE on every book i read that was not twilight, but this book series was soo much better, completely forgot about twilight!
read it love it live it!

Healthy home made banana Ice cream receipt.

... with only ONE ingredient!
oh yeah you heard me.
I will only eat my bananas when they are still a bit green, when they get one brown spot I won't even look at them.
I came across this receipt the other day and it was wonderful! keep reading for the sake of the wasted bananas!

You will need for one person (one scoop)
one banana (preferably a banana with brown spots on)

start by chopping the banana (without the peel) to smaller pieces. Then lay them on a tray that will fit in your freezer.

put the tray in the freezer until the pieces are solid. I like to have them in the freezer over the night so that I can eat ice cream when I wake up. trust me, I have eaten even crazier things for breakfast.

put the banana pieces in a mixer and mix!
and It's done!
It won't be like ice cubes, you will have a  nice rich ice cream feeling :)
to spice up the flavour even more you can add cocoa, frozen strawberries, jam, peanut butter, nuts, etc.4

Tips on how to write a novel.

writing novels is extremely hard but at the same time really really exciting.
first of we have to know if we have a purpose with this novel, why are we writing it?
for an example, if it is for a school project you might have to talk with your teacher and ask him/her, what is it that he/she are looking for, is it grammar, is it the structure, choice of word etc.

1. get inspired.
getting inspired nowadays is easy because there are just so many things happening around you all the time.  When I wan't to be inspired I read blogs, it helps reading about different personalities.
going to a cafeteria alone is probably the best way to get inspired when coming up with characters. that way you get to study actual people and how they talk, their small actions, the way they laugh, what they order, what they talk about, facial expressions etc. these are things we don't really think about on a daily basic and hardly analyse.
and my last resource: Pinterest. i LOVE pinterest, they always have the most beautiful pictures, and they have pictures of everything, why not make an collage!

2. write a check list
what is it that you wan't to write about? a criminal scene, watch 1 or two episodes of Nacy CIA,  to get the surrounding. if you are not that good at putting listening to something and then put it to words I suggest that you read book in the same category you wan't to write in!

3. start writing a draft.
quick and hazy. nothing to specific, that can wait until the last touch - up. concentrate on the actual story here.

4. go to sleep.
you need to sleep, so that next day when you read your text again you will see all the small in corrections you didn't see the day before.

5. touch up
correct the last misspellings etc.

and you are done!
remember that a novel is not supposed to be super long, and not too heavy environmental descriptions :)

happy writing!

what im doing tomorrow...

so tomorrow is a activity day at school, you could choose between go skiing, climbing (indoors), or go ice skating. i choose...

climbing!
Going to be so much fun, I have never done that before, and I'm a bit scared of heights so who know, I might start crying on my way up lol.. I didn't choose the typical swedish thing to do, skiing, because lo and behold, I have never done that before, and I don't have a death-wish yet.

Of Poseidon REVIEW

Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon, #1)

By: Anna Banks

Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

can I just say, Never ever ever ever saw that one coming!!!
yay, im so glad i read this book, one of my GR friend had given this book really bad critics so I kind of stayed away from this book a while but im glad It wasn't a permanent thing, and Im still hitting my face for the time it took me to pick up this book.
and that cover is killing me!!!

affected by other reviews

do you guys get affected by other people's reviews?

I like to think that I don't, I have a hard time reading a book that has a average rating under 4.0 on Goodreads, and If a friend tell me to not read this or that book i probably won't.

I think im just afraid to read a bad book, to waste my time you know.
I'ts kind of twisted in a way, because far from every book i have ever read that has a rating above 4.0 has been good, let's just take Hunger Game, Pride and Prejudice, what happened to GoodBye, the Awakening and the Struggle, etc etc...

But sometimes, if i find a REALLY good Review, ratings doesn't really get to me.
but yeah, i wish ratings wouldn't really affect me that way, i guess that could be my new years resolution
or not, i will probably forget it by tomorrow.
