TAG: Never Be Ashamed of Who You Are

I haven't done a tag in a very long time, simply because I haven't had something important to talk about. I would never write a TAG to gain more followers or more respect or some crap like that. Every word I write in these posts comes from a deep place.

I started my blog-Instagram 6 months ago and I have connected with a bunch of people over Instagram. Some that I just exchange 1 or 2 comments with and others that I talk with on a daily basic.

Coming in contact with other bookworms felt so surreal in the beginning. I've always felt alone when it comes to my passion of reading, some people would tell me to get a life while others would just assume that I was boring because of that. I didn't have anyone to talk to about books really, so I would talk with anyone who paid me attention lol.

So Instagram helped me a lot to get all my FEELS out, and the other bookworms are super funny.

But over these six months I've also come across some very sad things too.
People being bullied because of their love for books and for being 'nerdy'.

I read about this every damn day on Instagram.

And some even committed suicide.

Beautiful, hilarious and so very nice people.

It makes me so mad.
No one makes fun of that kid who plays football day in and day out, or that kid who plays video games 10 hours a day.

Because being a jock or a gamer is socially acceptable, but being a bookworm? Oh no how lame.

People got to STOP  making fun of other people because of their passion.
Books have saved me so many times, over and over again. Books gives me hope when it comes to love. Books give me hope that I will too one day have my happy ending. Have something to fight for.
Books complete me.

And when someone talks bad about my anchor? When someone say that i'm "too obsessed" with books and should get a life? Yeah it makes me both pissed and sad.

Because they don't understand what books do to me and never will.

But you wan't to know something?
I'm not ashamed of my love for books. I will never excuse myself for loving books, never deny my love, because that would be like denying a part of me.

I was bullied for 7 years. People would call me names and push me and stuff like that, simply because I was different.

But I never changed. I tried to be like 'them' once and failed so miserably, I never tried to be anyone else than me after that.

But you should not have to fight it alone. Talk with someone. It will make it easier.

When I started 10th grade which is when we start High school in Sweden things changed. Those were all new people and I could start of with a new slate. And people loved me at my new school. They really did. They saw me for the happy person I truly was, and they liked me for who I was.

And someday you will too feel the love I feel everyday from my classmates and family too.

Never change. Never be ashamed of who you are, because trust me, you are perfect as you are. And some day someone will tell you that. But until then you gotta be strong. Never EVER feel like something is wrong with you because it is not. You might not find someone who loves book or whatever it is that you are passionate about, but you will find people who will accept you for the person you are.

And I will always accept you for who you are.

No matter what you go trough always stand tall and smile. It will break your enemies and warm the others. But most importantly. It will give you strength.

Think positive and good things will happen.

Legend (swe) / Legend (Legend #1) REVIEW

Legend

Av Marie Lu
Sidor: 289

Legend (Legend, #1)By Marie Lu
Pages 320
Publisher: Putnam Juvenile

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

WOW WOW WOW! What a book!

I really did not think I would like this book, I read 11 pages and put it down. Dystopia books are known to be incredibly tenacious (the fifth wave - Rick Yancey) and the only time something actually happens is at the end but I can not say that about this amazingly awesome book!

Everything is so well thought out, Marie Lu weaves Legend together in an almost artistic way.

We get to read from both Day's and June's perspective, which I think makes it all the more fun, you get to know both characters equally well which I think is wonderful for both of them have an equal part in the story.

Dystopia is not exactly my thing (shocking, considering that I almost only read it these days, but we can talk about that some other time) but Legend was really superb.

3. A book that I think is highly overrated.

Every time I mention this book to people they get this expression in their face that tells me they want to slap me across the face, fortunately they pretty good at controlling that instinct.

And the book I'm talking about is
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Pride and Prejudice

I read this book I think two years ago and I was quite excited about it. This was my first book in the 'classic' genre.

I didn't hate the book, not exactly, I liked some parts more than other, but overall I found the book very... boring. There was no real drama to grasp on, all they did was attend to parties.

And can we just take a second to discuss Mr. Darcy? (Yes, only a second, because he doesn't deserve more of my time)

WHY WOULD ANYONE EVEN LOOK TWICE AT THAT DOUCHE BAG?!
Yes he have money, but I would've expected more from Elizabeth.

I also had a hard time remembering all the sisters, some sisters just didn't stand out to me, and that makes  me question the writing, an author should be able to cast a personal light on every single character they create, if they cant to that then they should stick with only having a few characters.

Look what a girl made me and uploaded on Instagram! Really pretty, I really like it! First 'fanart' ever :')

The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus #4) REVIEW

The House of Hades (The Heroes of Olympus, #4)By Rick Riordan
Pages: 597
Publisher: Hyperion Books

At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy’s instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea’s forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don’t succeed, Gaea’s armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

My mind is still trying to GRASP everything that happened in this freaking roller coaster book.

I have so many emotions it almost feels empty.

I loved loved L O V E D House of Hades to bits and pieces, it was so sweet and so funny, even when hell was breaking loose (like literary) someone always had something funny to say, and with Percy and Annabeth, the BEST DEMIGODS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD taking a stroll in Tartarus left us more time to get to know the other demigods a bit better.

House of Hades is where the characters kind of discovers who they are, they get to know their powers, and we get to meet some Godly parents under rather weird circumstances ,  and a lot of secrets will come to light.

Just Marvelous, Rick Riordan have done it again.

This is the second to last book in the Heroes of Olympus series which makes me so sad! I want the last book ASAP but at the same time I don't, because then it will be OVER.

Favorite Character(s): Nico Di Angelo and Frank Zang

My bookshelf - Before & After

I rearranged my books on my bookshelf two days ago 9 pm, I just felt like doing it so I... did. My bookshelf is pretty new, I bought it back in June and I remember taking a picture of it, so I went back in my feed on Instagram, (took me like 5 minutes to find the picture..) And I was so taken aback by how much my book-collection have grown!  I started buying books at the age of 12-13 so the books in my before picture are books I've been collecting over the course of 4-5 years. And now, only 4 months later... Well see for yourself.

2. The most disturbing book I've ever read.

Night World, No. 1 (Night World, #1-3)
Secret Vampire (Night World #1)
L.J. Smith

In Secret Vampire, Poppy thought the summer would last forever. Then she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Now Poppy's only hope for survival is James, her friend and secret love. A vampire in the Night World, James can make Poppy immortal. But first they both must risk everything to go against the laws of Night World.
It's a 50 pages (Ok It's a 240-ish pages read, but still)
book or something like that and it's ridiculous how much Smith tries to fit in it People got sick, died, lived, killed, wen't to Vegas, dissapeared, love triangle and God knows what more!! Poorly written, BAD BAD CHARACTERS and just UGH it sucks ok? Don't read it. I'm serious.

Allegiant (Divergent #3) REVIEW

Divergent (Divergent #1) Review
Insurgent (divergent #2) Review

Allegiant (Divergent, #3)By Veronica Roth
Pages: 544
Publisher HarperCollins

One choice will define you.

What if your whole world was a lie?
What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from both Tris and Tobias point of view.

I'm not going to rate this one, because I feel like this is a book that can't be rated, and I'm just not ready yet.

You broke me Roth. I will never forgive you for that ending. Ever.

I am supposed to write a review when all I want to do is cry. This is the hardest part a book blogger have to go trough - Having to face a book that broke you, and even worse, put word to it.

I don't know how good this review will be, so if it sucks, I'm sorry.

Allegiant starts of around where we left in Insurgent and things escalate quickly.
And when I say quickly I mean real quickly, and many authors would have failed with making it all work but of course VR did.

We get to meet a lot of new people which was some how confusing in the beginning because I didn't what this even had to do with the whole Divergent trilogy, but then I realized that nothing in this book is like the other two books. This one is packed with insensitivity and unexpected turns that left me having a hard time breathing correctly. And that scared the crap out of me. Veronica became something she's been telling us to be trough Divergent. She became brave.

There wasn't so much character-development in Allegiant but one person I feel like did change was Tris. Tris and I have a lot in common and I really look up to her. Her power somehow makes me want to be stronger too. She isn't the small little insecure child any longer. She is a woman now.

I feel like reading from Tobias POV gives us a better understanding about him as a character, he isn't really a wordy person, so we never really knew him. Until now.

People talk about the ending and how amazing it was because she took a risk. How she is so brave for doing so and that more YA authors should do so but do you know what I think? I call it bull.

I felt betrayed by that ending. It felt like a personal punishment of some sort. One I will never forget, never accept.  It was like being stabbed in the heart over and over again but Life wont let you die so you have no other choice than to
endure what is unbearable.
You have to continue with your life.
So you bear it.
Good bye Divergent.

Love always
Lihini.

Allegiant

Just finished Allegiant.  I will never forgive you Roth for destroying me like this. Ever.
Don't tell me to be brave.
Because I'm not.

Some Divergent edits

The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes is back in business!

After the big unexpected flop (hey I'm just quoting Constantin) with City of Bones they didn't know what the future would hold for City of Ashes, and then we got to know that they wouldn't be producing it...

But cry no more! The fans of the movie (and books!!) have sent them so much positive energy, letters, and what not, so now they are inspired to start again!  They will be looking into more detailed what they did wrong and hopefully do it right this time. (I could help you guys with that, I've read the book many more times than you, no offence)

Per the report, Constantin will relaunch production on the second film in the series next year, while using the last few months of 2013 to analyze why and how the first movie didn't do as well as they'd hoped. (Among the problems: Apparently, nobody realized that the "Mortal Instruments" fandom isn't entirely under the age of 18—which, as the adult editors of this blog and their life-sized stuffed Jace can attest, is obviously a Thing.)
So while there's no official release date for us to pin our hopes on, there is the promise of more big-screen shadowhunting to come, so everyone put on your party hats and DANCE.

Happy Allegiant Day!

Happy Allegiant day!

It's finally here! The day we have been LONGING AND EVER SO IMPATIENTLY WAITING FOR!
The last book in the Divergent trilogy.
This is it.
The very last book.

I don't feel like reading it anymore.
I don't want it to end!
Why oh Why Roth can't you write a 4th book!? Because I would've been down with that.

But let's not cry because it almost over, lets smile because it's here!

The Swedish translated version won't be translated and published until 2014 OCTOBER!
And if I buy the english one in hardcover it won't match with my Swedish ones so I bought the e book for now :)

I hope you are all enjoying this day as much as I do and enjoy the book as much as I know I will do!

Divergent (Divergent #1)

InsurgentAv Veronica Roth
Sidor: 381

I stället slutade dagen i outsägliga fasor.

Bittersweet REVIEW

description

BittersweetBy Sarah Ockler
Pages: 378
Publisher: Simon Pulse

Once upon a time, Hudson knew exactly what her future looked like. Then a betrayal changed her life, and knocked her dreams to the ground. Now she’s a girl who doesn’t believe in second chances... a girl who stays under the radar by baking cupcakes at her mom’s diner and obsessing over what might have been.

So when things start looking up and she has another shot at her dreams, Hudson is equal parts hopeful and terrified. Of course, this is also the moment a cute, sweet guy walks into her life... and starts serving up some seriously mixed signals. She’s got a lot on her plate, and for a girl who’s been burned before, risking it all is easier said than done.

It’s time for Hudson to ask herself what she really wants, and how much she’s willing to sacrifice to get it. Because in a place where opportunities are fleeting, she knows this chance may very well be her last...
2/5

two things I hate
1. crap ass love triangle
2. crap ass whining Bella-like main-characters.

And I believe this book got it all!

The main character, Avery had a lot going on in her life OK, I'm surprised she got time to sleep, and her "friends" were not really friends but more like Regina and her friends from Mean Girls, well Ok, Avery didn't have that many friends, well she had one, but she was really weird, and not very supporting.

Then Avery goes and get herself involved in the hockey teams training and all of a sudden that guy, Will, she shared a kiss with ages ago seems to like her, but she likes another guy, but she justcan't tell Will to stop kiss her, how could she, that would be rude

I'f you are going to make a love triangle MAKE IT GOOD, take notes from Cassandra Clare (not that a lot of authors will ever be as good as Cassie)

You might ask yourself, "why Lihini WHY did you give this book two stars, you seem to hate it!?"

Well, I happen to like cupcakes and this book talks a great deal about em'

Places I wan't to visit - Inspired by books I've read

Greece, Athens
After reading Percy Jackson I got obsessed with Greek mythologies and history, and ever since then I've always wanted to visit Acropolis and Delphi. One day I will.

England, Blackfriars Bridge
If you have read The infernal Devices you know why this place is special. This place holds so many memories, happy, sad and what not. When I closed the last book in the trilogy my first thought was that I need to visit that bridge.

England, Platform 9 3/4
I feel like this a place you just have to visit before you die. I read the first book a couple of weeks age and that feeling just grew.

USA, Forks
Have you ever been a hardcore Twilight fan? I'm sure you have, I was. And I feel like my childhood won't be complete if I don't visit Forks.

Rubinröd / Ruby Red & Safirblå / Sapphire Blue REVIEW

RubinrödAv Kerstin Gier
Sidor: 365

Wow vilken grym bok!!!

Ruby Red (Precious Stone Trilogy, #1)By Kerstin Gier

Publisher: Henry Holt

Gwyneth Shepherd's sophisticated, beautiful cousin Charlotte has been prepared her entire life for traveling through time. But unexpectedly, it is Gwyneth, who in the middle of class takes a sudden spin to a different era!
Gwyneth must now unearth the mystery of why her mother would lie about her birth date to ward off suspicion about her ability, brush up on her history, and work with Gideon--the time traveler from a similarly gifted family that passes the gene through its male line, and whose presence becomes, in time, less insufferable and more essential. Together, Gwyneth and Gideon journey through time to discover who, in the 18th century and in contemporary London, they can trust.
Wow what a awesome book!
I really did not expect that.  I thought it would be tough and heavy  the way fantasy book usually are, it's always between life and death. Here is more from school or time travel.

This book will blow your mind, I LOVED Gwendolyn and her friend Leslie, some think that they behave like 12 instead of 16, but according to me it's all the other 16 year olds in fantasy books that behave like 22.

This book will make you laugh your butt of, it's truly hilarious!

With that said, Borrow it, buy it, steal it, I do not care; just reading it!

Sapphire Blue (Precious Stone Trilogy, #2)
By Kerstin Gier
Pages: 362
Publisher: Henry Holt

Gwen’s life has been a roller-coaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she’s been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.

At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he’s very warm indeed; the next he’s freezing cold. Gwen’s not sure what’s going on there, but she’s pretty much destined to find out.

Did I just finish this book without pauses? I think I did.

We'll see London through the ages, we included at balls and other festivities that took place in history, and Wow if I enjoyed every second!

Gwendolyn is a real drama queen, so she does everything much more fun! One can not but marvel o her as a person, and jealousy that bubbles up when she gets to dress in all these new-old cattle engines!

The minor characters in the book are just as fun to read about, especially Leslie and Xemerius.

What I'm not so clear with yet is what I feel towards Gideon. He confuses me and Gwendolyn to put it mildly.

I can not wait until I get my hands on the third and last book in this trilogy!
